HOME TUTOR

Mr Bill Bowler
The training session for the London group is headed by our home tutor, Mr. Bill Bowler, a soft-spoken but learned trainer. Mr. Bill had the energy glowing when he first met all of us in the group. The bowler hat is his identity as the word 'Bowler' is carried in his name. He was born in South West of London but currently residing in Spain. His quest in looking for new information in the line of teaching and learning as well as other related aspects such as writing and publications, took him to 50 countries around the globe. Malaysia is the 51st country which will certainly be added into the list.

On the very first day of his visit into our class, Mr. Bill brought along some significant photographs and comic illustrations related to London attractions and English language use to be pasted on the wall around the class. These pictures were carefully selected by him to enhance the mood of learning the English language. Great! Indeed we felt the touch of London. It was exciting for all the group members to be Londoners for the next two weeks!

The followings are some of the lexical items introduced by Mr. Bill to explain the differences of terms in British English and American English:

e.g.:

Great Britain
U.S.A
Waistcoat
Dinner Jacket
Elastic Band
Vest
Tuxedo
Rubber Band
